Seattle

The guys at the dealership were simply awesome. We struck up conversations with Colin, Bill, Jeff and Omar. Knowing that we would be in town for two days they offered us to stay at their places! We took Colin up on his offer and later in the evening met up with the others. We are staying with Bill the second night.
There’s actually a story here. When looking for our new BMW riding gear Diane called numerous dealerships since our local dealer didn’t have the jackets and pants in stock and was going to charge a 15% restocking fee for any returns since it was a special order. Not good. Most dealers had the same policy, except for Ride West BMW. Bill, the apparel manager, was not only willing to order the items for us directly from BMW but he didn’t charge a restocking fee and he gave us 10% off! Wow. This allowed us to order multiple size jackets and pants to compare the sizes, only keeping what fit.

During the entire process we had multiple e-mail exchanges and phone conversations with Bill who was a pleasure to deal with. Very straight forward, uncomplicated and personable. So, our need to stop by the dealer for parts and, as it turned, more warranty work on the R1200GS was an interesting coincidence.

Saturday night we went out with Colin and Bill, meeting Jeff later for drinks. A great time was had by all. A great bunch of guys to hang out with. The next day, Colin guided us to Golden Gardens Park in Seattle where he took off and we hung out for a while before running some errands, ending up at a Starbucks for internet access. We met up with Bill and went for a great pizza & salad near Alki Beach Park.
